Physiotherapy

Something hurts. Let's figure out why — and actually fix it.

Pain has a way of shrinking your life. The things you love doing become things you do less, or stop doing altogether. You modify, compensate, and push through — until one day you realize you've been doing that for months.

At Black Mountain Physio, treatment goes beyond symptom relief. The focus is on the whole picture — your body, your history, your movement patterns, and your goals — to build a plan that makes sense for all of it.

How we work

Every session is 1:1 with Katie. No assistants, no double-booking. Just thorough, hands-on care that gives your body the time and attention it deserves. Treatment draws on a combination of:

Manual therapy

Hands-on techniques to release soft tissue, restore joint mobility, and reduce pain.

Exercise prescription

Targeted strengthening and movement work to address the root cause and prevent recurrence.

Education

Understanding what's happening in your body is part of getting better. You'll leave each session with clarity, not just a list of exercises.

Acupuncture

Used both as a treatment and as a diagnostic tool. In some cases, acupuncture helps activate an inhibited muscle or release tension in a way that reveals the most effective exercise to add to your home program — making your rehab more targeted and your time between sessions more productive.

What we treat

  • Low back pain — acute and persistent

  • Neck pain and headaches

  • Hip and knee pain

  • Shoulder, wrist, and hand pain

  • Post-surgical rehabilitation

  • Sports and activity-related injuries

  • Persistent and complex pain conditions

  • Returning to activity after time away from sport

This is for you if…

  • You have pain that's been hanging around longer than it should

  • You've tried other things and haven't found answers

  • You want to understand what's going on, not just be handed exercises

  • You're recovering from surgery or injury and want proper rehabilitation

  • You want to return to something you love — cycling, hiking, running, lifting — and need a plan to get there safely
